Disclosing that Doyang bridge construction was expected to be completed within the working season, the Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy chief minister Y Patton to provide fund to make the foothills road motorable while waiting for the mega project.
In a press release, NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir, general secretary W.Lemba Chang and assistant general secretary Chenithung Humtsoe said the committee convened a meeting on March 10, 2020, and deliberated on the ongoing foothills road project in the light of the chief engineer PWD(R&B) letter dated February 11, 2020.
According to NFHRCC, the chief engineer had directed all divisional EEs PWD(R&B) to submit reports for clearance of the roadways and also to report for any uncut portions along with budget estimates.
NFHRCC has, therefore, appealed to all responsible EEs PWD (R&B) to submit report to the competent authority as per the ground reality and not on assumptions.
NFHRCC said it also resolved to hold a meeting with all the apex tribal Hohos along with concerned department and Ralan Area Lotha HOHO on April 17, 2020 in Dimapur to hammer out an amicable settlement with regard to some portions of the alignments. Therefore, NFHRCC has urged all apex tribal hohos not to send substitutes to the meeting, but to come in persons as some very important and critical decisions would be made.
