DC Tuensang, Mokokchung issues advisory on COVID-19

In view of the global threat posed by coronavirus (COVID-19) which is spreading at an alarming rate and has been declared as a ‘pandemic’ by the World Health Organization, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang and Mokokchung issued directives and precautionary measures against COVID-19.

According to DIPR report, DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant has issued the following directives and advisories in the interest of public health and safety: In public places such as churches, offices and educational institutions, it is advised that people be encouraged to use masks and hand sanitizers; all the salespersons/shopkeepers must keep hand sanitizers for their and public use; sellers/shopkeepers should not indulge in unethical practices such as hoarding of/charging of exorbitant prices for hand sanitizers and masks. Any case/complaint of such illegal activity may be reported to the following contact persons: EAC Sadar, Kevethito Rose at 8787851115 and OC Tuensang Police Station, Chullen Chang at 9612128948. As far as possible, public are advised to avoid attending mass gatherings. Further, NGOs and other public organizations are urged to minimize, if not totally avoid, organizing of big gatherings and functions unless it is totally unavoidable.

DC Mokokchung: Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung has informed the under mentioned system of monitoring by the District Surveillance Team (COVID0-19) shall enforced with immediate effect as a precautionary measure: Passengers of all buses travelling directly from Guwahati into the district shall be monitored by way of collecting the details of their travel history at the Police check gates (Tsutapela and Watiyongpang) by police personnel; collected information shall be monitored by the District Surveillance Team (COVID-19) on a daily basis.

The DC through another order has restricted movement of all traders from outside the state for the purpose of weekly bazaar at various locations in the district with immediate effect and will remain in force till further order. However, weekly bazaar for traders from within the district will remain open.
