LoU, DHEP rejects meeting-cum-election

Land Owner LoU, DHEP has strongly opposed the meeting-cum election of LoU, DHEP convened by two village unions, stating that, formation of any LoU, DHEP office was unofficial, illegal and a direct challenge to the Court, as the Court in its November 13, 2017 order had said “the notification dated 20/04/2017 approving the Executive members of LoU, DHEP and the notification dated 7/6/2017, fixing the date for election of office bearers of LoU, DHEP are set aside and quashed”.
Land owner LoU, DHEP through a press statement by R. Yanthan questioned, how a new president could be elected when there were no executive members to do so. It also asked what provision of the Constitution  (LoU, DHEP) gave power or authority to Yanpothung Shitiri, president, Englan Range Village Council Union and Tsanthungo Ezung, chairman, Aree New Village Council to call for a meeting-cum election of LoU, DHEP?
In this regard, LoU DHEP has cautioned the 17 affected villages to be vigilant of fabricated news until the Court gives any further orders.
