Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) Thursday directed the business community especially the stockiest and wholesalers not only to maintain sufficient stock but maintain additional buffer stock over and above normal stock.
CNCCI through its media affairs cautioned that any stockiest and wholesaler found transporting essential commodity to other state(s) without prior permission from CNCCI and Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, would be dealt strictly and held solely responsible in the event of shortfall. CNCCI and DCCI had also decided that no essential commodity designated for Nagaland, would be allowed to be transported to other state during the period of lockdown. It also appealed to the state government to open all the bakeries having production unit. It said bakeries in Nagaland were only the food processing units and closing them down did not serve any purpose rather it was affecting the food chain.
Further, CNCCI has directed the business community to maintain the price fixed by the administration and not to indulge in hoardings and unethical practices.
Meanwhile, CNCCI has supported the suggestion by the Health (H&FW) department to relax time for buying essential in order to avoid crowding. CNCCI maintained that limiting time and regulating to few days a week to buy essential attracts more crowding and defeats the purpose of lockdown.
CNCCI has, therefore, urged the government to keep its options open for any inputs, suggestions and feedbacks from the stakeholders and general public.
