Notifications on poll preparedness

In view of the ensuing general election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2018, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Election Officer (DEO) Phek, Shanavas, has informed all the vehicle owners, drivers, handyman, whose vehicles were requisitioned to be used during the election, under Phek District to collect application forms for Postal Ballot (Form-12). According to DIPR report, the application forms can be collected from concerned Returning Officers (Pfutsero, Chizami, Chozuba, Phek and Meluri) during office hour after which the same should be filled-in with details of applicants SI. No./Part No./Name of the Assembly Constituency, and submit to their concerned returning officer on or before February 10.
Meanwhile, in a separate press release, ADC and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Phek, K. Mhathung Tsanglao has notified that the list of amendment to the final roll for the 16 – Pfutsero, 17 – Chizami, 18 – Chozuba, 19 – Phek and 20 – Meluri Assembly Constituency has been prepared.
According to DIPR report, ADC & ERO Phek has informed that the final roll has been prepared with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
It has been notified that a copy of the said roll together with said list of amendments has been published and would be available for inspection at the office of the ADC during office hours.
TUENSANG: District magistrate Tuensang, L Jamithung Lotha has directed all fire arm owners to deposit their fire arms at the nearest police station on or before January 31. In a notification, district magistrate Tuensang has informed that failing to comply with the order following action would be taken against the defaulters: the license of the fire arms would be liable for cancellation; the arms covered by that license would be liable for forfeiture to the government and the licence would be liable to prosecution under appropriate section of law. In a separate notification, L Jamithung Lotha has also informed that all arm license(s) issued from the office of the deputy commissioner Tuensang and who have not yet generated the Unique Identity Number (UIN) of their licence(s) that generation of UIN has been extended to March 31. All concerned arm licence holders have been instructed to generate their UIN at the earliest so that the licences are not rendered invalid.
 SP Kohima: Superintendent of Police (SP) Kohima, Aotemsu has directed all arms license holders under Kohima district to submit their licenses to their respective police stations for verification within seven days from the date of issue of this notice.
Failure to comply will invite legal proceedings under the Arms Act, 1959 and may be liable to cancellation of the arms license, SP informed.
