State govt warns against hunting

State government has strongly advised the general public not to hunt or consume any wild meat especially wild boar, civet etc since there was a strong possibility of the virus being present in such wild animals. In an advisory, issued by the home department has asked all the deputy commissioners to bring to the notice of all village councils. The advisory has been issued in connection with the department of animal husbandry & veterinary services notification banning import of pigs throughout the state in view of the reported outbreak of “African Swine Fever” in the neighbouring states.
