Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways and Land Resources, Paiwang Konyak held a meeting with student bodies from Wakching and Aboi, Konyak Union and Empowered Committee at Walo Guest House, Mon Town on June 30.
A press release from Wakching Town Students Union (WTSU) media cell stated that, Paiwang who is also minister incharge for COVID-19 Mon district, lauded the student bodies for their selfless and dedicated duties in fighting against COVID-19.
He further encouraged the student leaders to keep going till the end.
Convenor of Combined Wakching Students’ Union (CWSU), Yonglong Chemshe also spoke about the difficulties faced by the students while delivering voluntary services for COVID-19.
He nevertheless assured that the CWSU will fight tooth and nail to save Konyak in general and Wakching in particular from the deadly virus. Minister also assisted financially towards the student union fund for expenses of the two check gates installed at Wakching.
