Rs.1.58 cr cash, weapons, RDX explosive seized
As part of its ongoing crackdown, Assam Rifles troopers along with state police representatives busted an “extortion module” of the NSCN (I-M) and apprehended two NSCN (I-M) cadres along with four accomplices near Green Park, Dimapur on July 4, PRO (Defence) Lt. Col. Sumit K Sharma said.
In a statement, PRO said that the troops recovered one .22 Pistol (Made in USA), one AK 56 Rifle with magazine, one .22 Rifle Zerujorka with magazine, one Model CZ 99 Precision Calibre .22 Long Rifle with magazine, two packets of RDX explosive, Rs 1,58,72,800 (Rs.1.58 cr) in cash, besides other incriminating materials and warlike stores. The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence regarding illegal cash transaction, PRO said.
The apprehended persons along with the seized items were handed over to Diphupar PS for further investigations.
