An 82-year-old person, who tested positive for COVID-19 on July 18, was shifted to ICU of COVID-19 Hospital here on July 19 from the Eden Medical Centre.
Sources said the patient has co-morbid conditions with diabetes and has a past history of open heart surgery and pulmonary tuberculosis.
The patient was treated at Shamrock Hospital on July 16 and at Nikos Hospital and Eden Medical Centre July 17.
With a typical Covid lung picture with respiratory distress, sources said the person is on ventilator support.
He is critical with unstable blood pressure and his other vitals are being maintained. Treatment protocol is being followed for him.
The patient is being monitored by a medical team comprising of one doctor, two nurses and two attendants on eight-hourly rotation basis, said Dr Kasheto, medical superintendent of Dimapur COVID Hospital.
He, sought prayer support from everyone for speedy recovery of the patient.
