TVC to impose restrictions on movement within village

Thahekhu Village Council (TVC) has informed that in view of COVID-19 outbreak and in an attempt to contain its spread, the village held a meeting on July 22 and resolved to enforce “certain restrictions” within the village.

In a press release, TVC chairman I Khekuto Yeptho and secretary, Mughavi Chishi informed that the council has resolved to prohibit entry of “unknown people” within the village jurisdiction for “morning walks, jogging and other sport activities”, with effect from July 24.
The village council has also strictly prohibited “non-essential movements” within the village jurisdiction after 2 p.m. as per the government SOP and guidelines. It has also asked residents to compulsorily wear face mask and adhere social distancing norms.
TVC has warned that anyone caught violating the restrictions shall be penalised as per the National Disaster Management Act 2005.
