Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has cautioned “anti development element” against obstructing the ongoing construction of Zunheboto-Chakhabama road via Chozuba and Pfutsero-Phek two-lane road project or flaring up unnecessary social tension.
In a press release, CPO president Mikha Kenye and general secretary Veduvo Rhakho reiterated Resolution No.4 of CPO extended executive meeting adopted on June 29, 2019 at Phek town and reminded the community members that any genuine complaint pertaining to compensation or construction by contractors should be routed through authorized body of respective village/town.
CPO said confusion has been created by “questionable persons/groups” in the form of ‘organized complaints’ lodging countless complaints directly to district administration, claiming damage compensation.
Without verification and authentication by respective authorized village/town bodies, CPO said any random claim or concede under pressure of ‘organized complaints’ could cause serious ramification derailing the mega project second time.
Affirming its position on entitlement of damage compensation, CPO said it had been pressing responsible authority to immediately re-verify the properties of each and every genuine complaint and payment due.
CPO said that those complainants were invited many times to come forward and openly place their grievances before competent authority from village/town and range levels to that of CPO, Commissioner, Nagaland and recently Phek DPDB meeting on July 6, 2020. However, CPO said that those complainants “apparently for questionable reason” refused all chances given.
However, CPO has advised those complainants to comply with DPDB decision and avail the opportunity given them in the upcoming re-verification of aggrieved properties.
CPO warned that if any member/group in defiance of apex body (CPO) resolution and DPDB decision and attempt to disrupt the social harmony of community or inter community, ongoing road construction or other cooperating aggrieved property owners, CPO would uphold its mandated responsibility and penalise any rebelling member traditionally deemed fit.
CPO has, therefore, appealed to every responsible member not to sub-serve personal agenda at the cost of community good.
