TrueNat testing free for citizens

Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department Friday clarified that there would be no charges for citizens requiring COVID-19 testing.

In a clarification, H&FW principal director said that the statement issued on Thursday, that Rs. 1500 would be charged per testing, was not for returnees or general public but specified for special categories of non-resident people entering the state. He said that the special category people, whose services are urgently required, but may be deterred to enter the state by 14 days of facility quarantine and 14 days home quarantine were being facilitated by this special SOP as notified on June 7, 2020. Only this people will be charged Rs. 1500 per TrueNat test. PD also said that government officials on duty will be exempted from the testing charge.
