Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has expressed shock over the assault of a woman by her husband on June 16 night at Dilong Ward in Mokokchung town.
In a condemnation the MTLT president Imkummeren Jamir and general secretary Lanu Pongen claimed that, the husband had tortured his wife with blunt objects and that “such sadistic acts and sadists do not deserve to roam free in a civilized society.”
MTLT does not condone any act of domestic violence and as such the MTLT strongly condemns the brutal act of the husband in the strongest term.
Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem also lauded the Mokokchung Police for taking prompt action in arresting and booking the culprit under relevant sections of the law.
It stated that the culprit be punished in the sternest manner so that such brutal acts of domestic violence do not recur in the society.
Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem further expressed sympathy with the victim and wished her a speedy recovery.
