
Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) will be holding a thanksgiving programme on August 1, 9 a.m in view of the Indo-Naga ceasefire day and August 3 Framework Agreement day in respective churches or places.
A press release by CNC general secretary Ikato Chishi Swu stated that, the greatest and most important achievements of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) in its struggle against the aggressors, since its inception on January 31, 1980, under the leadership of its former chairman Late Isak Chishi Swu and general secretary Th. Muivah, are as follows: NSCN becoming a member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) on January 23, 1993; Declaration of the Second Indo-Naga Ceasefire on August 1, 1997; Joint declaration of the NSCN and GoI on official recognition of uniqueness of Naga history on July 11, 2002; Signing of the Framework Agreement between NSCN and GoI on August 3, 2015.
CNC stated that, these important dates and days needed to be remembered and observed because these were hard earned victories granted by God to Naga nation. Therefore, the CNC appeals to all denominations, churches in Nagalim and all the regions, units, battalions and brigades to conduct a special thanksgiving prayer programme on the mentioned date.
