
Various seminars and programme were organized by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) during the month of September under various topics.
KDLSA: One day seminar was organized by The Bright Morning Star Children Home, Kohima on September 25, with Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA). KDLSA panel lawyers Apila Sangtam and Vimeno Nakhro participated on behalf of KDLSA as resource persons. Topics such as Children and Law, RTE (Right to Education) Act, 2009 were sensitize to the children.
PDLSA: Seminar was organized by Thenyizumi Women Society on September 26, at Thenyizu village under Phek district. Presenting the topic on Domestic Violence Act 2005 Keneinuo Swuro, project assistant Phek DLSA highlighted the rights of aggrieved person(s) and remedies under DV Act. Sekhotso Rokha panel lawyer PDLSA shared the causes/effect, prevention and protection under Immoral Traffic (prevention) Act 1986, followed by an interactive session where further discussion were engaged and insights were imparted on the highlighted topics.
WDLSA: Awareness on Right To Education (RTE) was conducted on September 28, at Grace School Wokha by Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA). The school administrator Andrew Tsanglao spoke on the “Right to education”. Legal pamphlets was also distributed to faculty and students.
