Farewell prog for officers held in Dmu

A farewell programme was organised for district education officer (DEO), R Amongla Jamir and supervisor, adult education (SAE), Hevishe Sumi at auditorium hall, Government Hr. Sec. School, Wednesday.

Delivering her farewell speech, R Amongla Jamir stated that whatever she had achieved during her tenure as DEO were all due to the love, cooperation and help from her colleagues at DEO.

She acknowledged fourth grade workers in her office, who had in all circumstances kept her office clean and tidy and made her feel like it was her second home. 

She also narrated some incidents during her tenure when she not only received threats but also encountered a near kidnapping case from miscreants. She stated that her learning process increased by the day during the course  of working as DEO. 

Principal GHSS, Chümoukedima, Karen Sema in her speech recalled the time when former Nagaland school education minister, Yitachu regarded R Amongla Jamir as the “iron lady of school department”. In this, she added that her absence would be deeply felt. 

Project assistant (Samagra Shiksha), Vitoho Chophy in his speech acknowledged Hevishe Sumi for his cheerfulness and free-willed spirit in the office and regarded him as a humble and fun loving person who always tried his level best to keep everyone around him happy.

Assistant district education officer, Kisheli Shikhu, Sr. SDEO Dimapur, C Chenirao Humtsoe, and HM GHS, Diphupar B, Ruby Humtsoe also delivered farewell greetings while a special number was presented by Mughatoli Swu and Inato Wotsa.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant district coordinator (Samagra Shiksha), Freda Angami and invocation was pronounced by Sentila Pongen. 

R Amongla Jamir started her career as a graduate teacher in 1985 and promoted to vice principal in 2003 and as principal in 2005. She was later appointed as deputy DEO on 2012, and appointed as DEO charge in 2014. She was regularised to the post of Dimapur DEO on December 13, 2017.
