
Water quality monitoring and surveillance training for grass root level workers was held Saturday at the office of sub-divisional officer, PHED maintenance Urban Division Dimapur.
A press release by the department informed that resource person, state chemist PHED, Roland Kikon, spoke on water quality standards and on the importance of drinking safe water.
He also explained how water can be physically, chemically and biologically contaminated and that excessive contamination can cause health problems. Kikon also gave a detailed description of the chemical contaminations that found in water.
Chemist DWSM, Tzutipokla Longkumer conducted hands on training of the field testing kit and all the trainees were taught how to test the water step by step giving a detailed description of the procedure to follow and the contents of the FTK. The training was sponsored by Sanitation & WSSO, PHED Nagaland.
