Chauhan’s tenure as CFMG chief ends

Lt. Gen. (retd) Shokin Chauhan, who officially took charge as the chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) on August 29, 2018, has completed his tenure. Lt. Gen. Chauhan, former director general (DG) Assam Rifles, took over from D.K. Pathak, IPS (retd) whose tenure ended on August 9, 2018. According to reports, the Home ministry was looking for Chauhan’s replacement. CFMG chairman is tasked to ensure the implementation of the agreed ceasefire ground rules.
