
On-the-spot verification of the Mini Cement Plant (MCP) at Wazeho Phek district was conducted by Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) under the chairmanship of advisor, Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan from October 28 to 30.
A press release by NLA secretariat stated that, the committee inspected the mini cement plant which has remained inoperative for the last 12 years causing loss to the state government.
During the visit, the COPU also inspected the functioning of the Decorative and Dimensional Stone Plant (DDSP), Wazeho and the Mali Farm at Pfutsero under department of Horticulture. Others who accompanied the committee were advisor of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services and Women Resources, R. Khing, Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, MLA, commissioner and secretary NLA, Dr. P. J. Anthony, officers from NLA and Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NSMDC). The committee will submit its finding report to the NLA during the next sitting.
