
Christmas and New Year greetings have been extended to the Nagas by Working Committee (WC) of NNPGs and GPRN/NSCN respectively.
WC, NNPGs: Convenor of Working Committee (WC) of NNPGs, N. Kitovi Zhimomi on behalf of WC, NNPGs, conveyed great joy and happiness to “our people wherever one may be” and to “let this festive season remind each one us of who we are in the eyes of God and man.”
Kitovi said that, Christmas was a special time to recall and cherish the love of God in one’s personal and professional lives and that “the plan of God is beyond human wisdom and understanding” as “God chooses the heart and not the outer appearance of man.” He also added that Christmas was a time for families and relative to strengthen and renew bonds and that “meaningful reconciliation and forgiveness must be nurtured in our hearts for our fellowmen.” WC, NNPGs also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all Nagas, transcending international boundaries; Naga friends and well wishers across the world, for the support and solidarity extended to the Naga people.
GPRN/NSCN: GPRN/NSCN president ‘gen. (retd)’ M. B. Neokpao Konyak has extended warmest greetings and best wishes to everyone on the occasion of celebrating the birth of Christ. In a greetings message to the Nagas, the GPRN/NSCN president said that, “situation have improved much better today and peace is returning in our strife and turmoil stricken land” and for which he extended sincere gratitude to the denizens and everyone responsible for playing their precious part in the collective effort for peace. President also paid tribute to the many martyrs “who have already left us for our better future and may have since been forgotten”, whereby a moment of homage and prayer was very much due for them and millions of other unfortunate and less privileged men. While wishing the Naga people a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year, the president also hoped that this Christmas would bring back the forgotten bond of love, peace and unity amongst the Naga people and touch the land “with a healing hand to fulfil our hopes and aspirations so that we can secure a happier and better future.”
