KVK Wokha conduct 14th SAC meeting

 KVK, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Wokha conducted the 14th scientific advisory committee (SAC) meeting at KVK conference hall on December 22.

A press release by ICAR-KVK Wokha stated that, senior scientist & head i/c, Dr. Moaakum welcomed the members and briefed about the KVK mandates and activities. He suggested the committee members to evaluate the works done during the presentation for their feedbacks. Action plan for 2021 was presented by Dr. Moaakum where suggestions and feedbacks from the members were taken up into consideration and incorporated. The committee members observed and emphasized to take up more activities on farmers oriented approach, where farmers can manage by low inputs with high return for their livelihood. This would enable to cover more villages in the district by organising more training for rural youths and encouraged them for taking up farming for entrepreneurial development.

The annual progress report for the year 2020 were presented by the concerned subject matter specialists of KVK, Wokha. Meeting was attended by the representatives of agriculture and allied departments, Shanchobeni and Chonbenthung, horticulture officers from DHO office, Subenthung Humtsoe, agriculture officer from DAO office, Lothungbeni and Benthunglo from ATMA and Wonchano, women welfare officer from Mahila Shakti Kendra, Wokha. 

Altogether 28 stakeholders, NGO representatives including farmers attended the meeting and vote of thanks was delivered by Megokhono Meyase, ACTO (horticulture).
