
Assam Rifles under its civic action programme (CAP) has been conducting various activities in different parts of the state for benefit of public.
Jalukie Battalion medical camp at New Nkio: Jalukie Battalion conducted activities in various districts and villages for the welfare of the public. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the battalion conducted medical camp at New Nkio on December 17 along with AR medicos conducted medical check-up for the villagers. The villagers were briefed about various health and hygiene methods to be implemented during this crisis and were provided with necessary medicines. Altogether, 146 villagers benefitted from the camp. Meanwhile, medical and veterinary camp was also conducted in collaboration with Veterinary College, Jalukie at New Puilwa on December 16. The troops conducted medical check-up for villagers and briefed about various health and hygiene methods that was needed to be implemented during the crisis.
The veterinary team provided necessary treatment to the livestock of villagers. 124 villagers and 360 livestock benefitted from the camp.
Tuensang Battalion free medical camps: Tuensang Battalion conducted free medical camps at Kudeh and Yonghong villages, Tuensang, respectively on December 11. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), free medicines and medical care were provided to the sick and the villagers were educated on importance of COVID-19 protocols, timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation. Altogether 65 males, 56 females and 66 children benefitted from both the camps.
Mon Battalion medical camp at Aboi village: Mon Battalion organised a free medical camp at Aboi village, Mon on December 14. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the medical team provided free medical consultancy and medicines to the villagers. The villagers were also briefed on essentials of COVID-19 precautions, hygiene and sanitation. A total of 190 patients benefitted from the camp.
Kohima Battalion: Kohima Battalion visited children of Bright Morning Star Children Home on December 22.
According to PRO, HQ IGAR (N), Assam Rifles interacted with the children of Bright Morning Star Children Home and motivated them to follow their dreams. In addition 10 mattresses provided/sponsored by the Sunbird Trust were also handed over to them.
