
Nikhekhu village celebrated its centenary jubilee, under the theme “Alhou no Kümüghatsü” James 1:17 on December 20.
A press release by the organisers stated that, WSBAK executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema dedicated the monolith. Delivering the word of God, Rev. Dr. Phughoto reminded the gathering that there were only two options, namely blessing or condemnation. He urged the gathering to strive and live according to God’s words to seek blessing from God. Quoting from the passage of Deuteronomy 30:5, he pronounced his blessings for the village.
The souvenir was unveiled by secretary, literature board & administrator Dr. H. Sukhato Rotokha. In his short speech, Dr. H. Rotokha recalled how selflessly Asü Nikhekhu and others toiled hard to establish the village amidst wild creatures in no man’s land after getting permit from the British. Pastor Nikhekhu Baptist Akukuhou, P. Viyito Zhimo, conducted the short programme for the declaration of monolith.
Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Rev. Nivito Yeptho, welcome address by Isawoto Zhimomi, Ato Kükau and offertory prayer was said by Kughani Yeptho, APW, Toshezu Baptist Akukuhou. A short prayer was said in remembrance of the ancestors by Khelito, pastor Shozukhu Baptist Akukuhou. Jubilee choir presented a special number, while Nihokhu and Hozukhe villages presented “Liphi le” and “Lejole” respectively. Vote of thanks was said by K. Hozheto Yeptho, Akükau, chairman jubilee planning board. Programme was chaired by Vikheni S. Aye, APW and recorded by Y. Asheto Zhimomi.
