Bank of Maharashtra branch opened in Kohima

Bank of Maharashtra (BOM) opened its Kohima branch office, near Hyundai Showroom, New secretariat road with advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire as the special guest on December 23. 

A press release by the organisers stated that, Kire in his launching speech said, “We have been having account in different banks and some banks are very rude to the customers” and he further requested all the employees of BOM to be public friendly. 

Delivering the welcome address and highlighting on the functioning of BOM, Kohima branch manager, Eugene O’ Hara Lotha informed that BOM was a major public sector bank in India which was founded 85 years back with a tag line “one family one bank”. Lotha informed that the government of India holds 82% of the share and the BOM so far has 16 million customers across the country with 1859 branches in India. He said BOM was the 5th performing and leading bank among the nationalized banks in India and Kohima branch was the 49th branch of Kolkata zone and the second branch opened in Nagaland.

Earlier, programme was chaired by Walter Yanthan, while Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes, parish priest, St. Francis De Sales Church, Kohima dedicated the new BOM branch. Vote of thanks was delivered by Thohrii Ashulii Poji, deputy branch manager BOM and benediction was offered by asst. pastor, CR Mission Church, Kohima.
