DPE, KDSU celebrate silver jubilees

Dimapur Pongidong Ekhung (DPE) and Kashanyu Daho Students’ Union (KDSU) celebrated their respective silver jubilees on December 31. 

DPE celebration held at Unity College, Dimapur was graced by Lotha Hoho Dimapur chairman, Y.L. Jami as chief guest. 

Jamir after releasing the jubilee magazine, delivered a speech, where he spoke on the importance of unity in strength. He reminded the gatherings to thank the pioneers who have contributed towards the formation of the organization.

He also encouraged the members of DPE to retrospect and measure on how to improve better even in the coming days.

Jami further encouraged the gathering to inculcate discipline in life and to follow the system stating that lack of system would lead to crisis.

Blessings prayer and message was said by Reverend Dr. Mong Lotha, where he elaborated on the commandment of the Lord. He maintained that the greatest commandment of the Lord was not just to love Him but also to share the love to everyone.

Greetings message was delivered by E Lotha and exhortation by NM Ovung.

Special number was presented by “yanpoe yampia eyi” and jubilee “nsuka khen” was presented by Zuthunglo Ezung.

The programme chaired by DPE chairman James Ezung began with an invocation by CN Ovung. Finance report was delivered by Yanrenthung Ovung and vote of thanks was delivered by Yibenthung Humtsoe.

KDSU: Kashanyu Daho Students’ Union celebrated its 25th anniversary at Phenwhenyu Baptist Church on the theme, “March in Unison”.  Asst. Professor Kohima science college (Autonomous) Jotsoma, Dr. Lilongchem Thyug graced the celebration as guest speaker. 

In his speech, he encouraged the students to have patience and endurance and to never give up in the competitive world. He stressed on the young people to respect every job and to focus on entrepreneurship.  He further reminded them that today’s society needs not only qualified but also skilled people to get jobs or to work for living. 

Earlier, secretary mission CRBC, Rev. Hinilo Tep dedicated KDSU monolith. The programme was attended by NSF officials, Rengma Students’ Union and host of Village and Church leaders under Kasha Daho.
