Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), conducted various activities for the welfare of public. 

Phek battalion: Phek battalion organised coaching classes for aspirants of Sainik School, Punglwa at Phek from January 4 and would commence till February 6. 

According to HQ IGAR (N), the battalion assisted a total of 29 students of class 6 and class 9 during the registration process for the entrance exam, which is scheduled to be held on February 7. A total of 15 boys and four girls are currently undergoing coaching.

Jalukie battalion: Jalukie battalion conducted medical camp at Nkialwa village, Peren on January 4. Medical check-up of villagers was conducted and necessary medications were also provided. 

The villagers were also informed about the latest developments pertaining to COVID-19 and its precautions. Altogether, 88 villagers benefited from the camp. On December 29, the battalion also organised a free medical camp at Kanaram village, Tening. During the camp, the troops provided medical support and assistance to villagers and briefed them on the COVID-19 precautions. A total of 40 individuals benefitted from the camp. 

Also, Jalukie Battalion dedicated a Volleyball ground along with playing equipment at Pelletkie village. The newly constructed volleyball ground was handed over to the villagers in presence of the village GB, chairman and important members of the village council. The inauguration of the newly constructed volleyball ground was done by the youngest girl member of the village youth club. 

Meanwhile, Dimapur battalion construction a football ground and installed a rostrum at Doyapur village in Dimapur under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme and handed over to the same to the village.
