AR continues to extend welfare services

Continuing with its social services to the local communities under its civic action programmes, Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted various welfare programmes across the state. 

HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised coaching classes for aspirants of Sainik School, Punglwa at Kiphire, Kohima, Wokha and Phek districts from January 4, 2021.

All basic amenities including books and stationery were provided to the aspirants to enable them to focus on the preparation. During the coaching, the troops facilitated registration for the entrances exam of 85 children, including 17 girls. 

Mokokchung battalion: Mokokchung battalion constructed new toilet blocks at Jordan School, Bura Namsang, Longleng district on December 31. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the troops constructed new toilet blocks for boys and girls at Jordan School, Bura Namsang, Longleng as gesture of goodwill to fullfill the basic requirement of having toilet blocks in the school for students in the village located in remote areas. 

Shamatore battalion: Assam Rifles Shamatore battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted picnic for Adora Children’s Home at Noklak, on January 1, and also conducted medical camp of children. 

Jalukie Battalion: Jalukie Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR conducted medical camp and distributed Solar light at Njauna village, Peren last December. Apart from health check up, the troops also provided necessary medications to the villagers. The villagers were also briefed about the various health and hygiene treatment. A total of 132 individuals including 40 male, 55 female and 37 children benefited from the medical camp. In addition solar light which included, a solar panel, rechargeable light, three bulbs and charging cables were also provided to the village council for the council hall.

Meanwhile, GBs, chairman and villagers acknowledged the efforts and thanked the security forces for their selfless service for the people.
