Fuel prices hiked for second day

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) Thursday increased petrol price by 21-24 paise per litre and diesel by 26-29 paise across the major cities of the country taking retail prices to an all-time high as OMCs raised prices for the second successive day after almost a month-long gap. After today’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.86.59 per litre while diesel price increased to Rs. 77.55 per litre. In the state capital, price of petrol price was raised to Rs. 87.55 per litre and diesel price was hiked to Rs.78.24 per litre. Currently, the OMCs align the domestic fuel prices with that of global benchmarks by taking into account any alterations in foreign exchange rates.
