Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has appealed the banks in Dimapur to provide proper ATM services at the earliest for the convenience of the general public.
In a press release, DNSU media cell stated that, it had received complaints from several sections of society, whereby it had an overall survey of ATM booths in and around Dimapur. Dismayed that majority of ATM booths were either out of service or out of cash, the DNSU stated that ATM with availability of cash had a queue of more than 20-30 persons at the time.
Maintaining that students were at the receiving end since academic admissions was going on, the DNSU further said that students were subject to unnecessary physical and mental harassment on accessing ATM service. DNSU noted that it was the bounden duty of the banks to provide quality service to its customers since ATM service charges were being levied.
Keeping in view of the pandemic outbreak, DNSU also noted that random queues outside the functioning ATMs without maintaining social distancing protocol was a total breach of SOP laid down by the government. DNSU further pointed out that most ATMs do not meet the requirements of standard operating procedures of the concerned banks.
