
Various battalions of Assam Rifles have been extending developmental support to public of Nagaland through its civic action programmes.
Kiphire Battalion: Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) assisted in modernising the Government Primary School (GPS) on January 11, at Thongsonyu village, Noklak.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), as part of project, four class rooms of the school were upgraded with electrification with LED tubelights, wiring with safety apparatus like PVC switch boards, MCBs and caping-casings, 16 wooden desks and benches, four sets of blackboards, five plastic chairs for teachers and staff and sports items.
The facility was inaugurated by Thongsonyu village head GB Khungkiu, of in presence of the AR personnel and village council members.
Ghaspani Battalion: Ghaspani Battalion of Assam Rifles supplied drinking water to the Huzukhe village, Dimapur on January 12. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N) the battalion has been carrying out such activity regularly in its area of responsibility since its inception.
The villagers approached the Assam Rifles camp at Nihokhu for provision of water supply to the village for a function being organised by them.
