14 tribes, PH welcome Niki’s truce offer

14 Tribes of Nagaland and the Pochury Hoho have welcomed Niki Sumi-led NSCN (K)’s  desire to join the “ongoing peace talks between the Government of India and Nagas for the larger interest of the people of Nagaland.”

In a press statement, 14 tribes of Nagaland co-ordinator KT Vilie expressed hope that the Centre would respond positively and honour “their decision for a greater solution to the Naga peace process as early as possible.”

The organization said that the bold steps taken by Niki Sumi and group itself spoke volumes of the sincerity and commitment of Naga leaders towards bringing a final solution to the Naga issue and “their desire for the true worth of the prevalence of peace amongst Nagas.”

PH: Meanwhile, Pochury Hoho (PH) has also expressed happiness over the “matured decision” of Niki group to join the peace process. 

In a press release, PH president Chonpa Jurry and general secretary Sierhosie said that the “long felt dreams of Nagas for self-determination” and the long cherished goal for a peaceful solution could be attained when all Naga brothers come together for peaceful negotiation. 

Lauding the “freedom fighters”, the hoho expressed hope that an honourable and acceptable solution would be achieved at the earliest.
