Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has appealed the deputy chief minister, Home, R&B, Y. Patton for setting up of one cyber cell for Dimapur district with certified examiners to do the analysis of seized electronic gadgets.
An appeal letter to Y. Patton by TSUD president, Rukewezo Wetsah and finance secretary, Asin Rengma stated that, with the increasing cyber crime cases in the state, and with only one cyber cell in Nagaland i.e in PHQ, Kohima, there was need for more such facilities to deal with cyber crimes. Pointing out that due to unavailability of resources in Dimapur Police Stations, victims of cyber crimes were compelled to commute to Kohima even to file an FIR, the TSUD urged upon the deputy CM to cater to the voices of the public and strengthen their trust in the governance.
