Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles, based on specific inputs regarding presence of miscreant dealing in contraband drugs in general area Burma camp, launched an operation along with police representatives on January 15 and apprehended one individual.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), one Nilo Swu was apprehended from Burma Camp, Dimapur along with 2700 SP capsules, 400 nitrosum tablets and cash of Rs. one lakh. The apprehended individual was handed over to East Police Station Dimapur along with recovered drugs for further investigation, PRO added.
AR recover weapon cache: Based on specific inputs regarding presence of weapon cache, the Mokokchung battalion of Assam Rifles launched operation along with police representatives at general area Jhum Kheti, near Sungkomen village on January 15, 2021.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), during the operation two .22 mm pistols with magazines (one made in USA and one country made) were recovered from a Jhum hut near Sungkomen village, Mokokchung at around 8:45 p.m. The recovered weapons were over to Mokokchung Police station, PRO stated.
SF apprehend 1 NSCN (U) cadre: In a delayed report, the security forces in a joint operation with police apprehended one armed NSCN (U) cadre near Samzuiram village, Peren on January 14, 2021.
According to PRO (defence), the security forces along with police representative, based on specific input, launched an operation and apprehended one armed NSCN (U) cadre and recovered one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine and one live round.
The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Jalukie police station for further investigation, PRO stated.
