
National Girl Child Week 2021 weeklong programme culminated in Kohima and Phek with various activities on January 26.
Kohima: District Level Centre for Women (DLCW)- Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Kohima in collaboration with State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) and Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) organised an online baking class to celebrate “BBBP national girl child week” on January 26 with student union organisations of Viswema, Kigwema, Jakhama and Mima.
A press release by SRCW Nagaland stated that, the programme was chaired by, district coordinator MSK, Vikeduozo Sorhie and introduction by district coordinator MSK, Kesoneinuo Kense, while concluding remark was given by nodal officer BBBP, Juliana Medom.
Resource person for the programme was Mesevilhou Sakhrie. About 35 participants attended the online programme.
Phek: In Phek the weeklong programme was observed by district administration & DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek.
A press release by DLCW-MSK stated that, various activities such as dadi-poti/grandmother-granddaughter selfie, distribution of BBBP calendar in Phek district, online poetry slam competition under the theme “I stand for her”, distribution of baby kits and certificates to District Hospital Phek to encourage institutional delivery, display of Phek district BBBP theme song on local channel/media, felicitation of local champions, display of BBBP stall on Republic Day followed by signature campaign was held from January 21 to 26.
DLCW-MSK Phek also participated on the Republic Day through an exhibition stall where paintings and photo gallery of activities conducted during a week long campaign were displayed. Signature campaign on the theme “I Stand for her” was also conducted on the same day where minister of Planning & Co-ordination, Land revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu initiated the signature campaign. He also gave away the awards for felicitation of 12 local champions at district level with certificates and cash prizes.
