Shamatore battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) assisted in containing a major fire at High School sector, Noklak town on February 6.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), on receiving the information of the fire, Assam Rifles troops from Noklak post along with local citizens and Noklak police prevented the raging fire from spreading into the built up area.
Fire fighting equipments from the post was also utilised and with timely intervention, no injury or loss of life and property was reported.
