Dimapur, Peren & Longleng DPDBs hold meetings

Dimapur DPDB meeting for the month of February was held on February 6 in the conference hall of DC Dimapur under the chairmanship of advisor Zhaleo Rio who is also the chairman of DPDB Dimapur.

According to DIPR report, in the meeting, Zhaleo impressed upon the members to attend the DPDP meetings regularly and reminded them about the importance of the forum where policies and programmes of the government are implemented through DPDB board meetings.

Zhaleo also expressed gratitude to the members for their participation and encouraged them to share their constructive ideas freely. Mentioning about funds provided by the government of India particularly towards Agri and allied sectors for livelihood and employment generation, Zhaleo asked the Department of Horticulture and Agriculture to highlight the activities undertaken, during the next DPDB meeting.

In the meeting, DC Dimapur also the vice chairman DPDB Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan requested HODs to ensure that their staff get vaccinated during their turn. He further advised HODs to go for cloth banners during any programmes to be held as per direction of the Government banning use of flex banners.

Highlighting on COVID-19 updates of Dimapur district,CMO Dimapur informed that the total cases stood at 6474 with 6312 recoveries and 28 active cases.

She further informed that the 2nd phase of vaccination drive would kick off on February 9 with 12000 registered beneficiaries. 

The board members also reviewed last meeting minutes and also recommended the proposals for registration of societies.

Peren: Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang chaired the monthly Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting on February 6 at DC’s Conference Hall, District Hq. Peren. According to DIPR report, regarding to shifting of Peren Government College, the principal was entrusted to work out the requirements and the advisor also requested HODs of different Departments to remain supportive of the proper and effective implementation of proposed Peren Govt College Shifting programme.

The board discussed on establishment of district jail at Peren Hq and entrusted Dy. Superintendent of Jail, Peren to come up with a proposal basing on land possessing certificate and forward to the concerned department for further necessary action.

As entrusted by the board in the previous DPDB meeting, technical assistant (REB) Peren, Vivian Solo and district sericulture officer, Yingsungbeni Ngully enlightened the board members with departmental activities.  In the meeting, Urban Planning activities which were undertaken were also highlighted by SDO (C), LRSO and urban development officer.

For the next meeting, the Department of Statistics was directed to give a PowerPoint presentation on their departmental activities.

Longleng: Longleng DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of the DC, M Shayung Phom on February 6, at DC’s conference hall.

According to DIPR report, CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla highlighted on the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine and appealed members to sensitise the people.  She also informed that for registration of beneficiary to avail the vaccine, one can submit the name and ID card through online registration on the web portal. 

She further sought for cooperation and support from members to enable the Medical Department in catering to the better services of the public.  Addl. superintendent of Police Longleng, apprised the members regarding meeting held with Assam counterpart at Sivasagar to maintain peaceful law and order in the border and for smooth conduct of forthcoming Assam election. He asserted that the meeting was fruitful and both sides agreed to extend full cooperation to each other for peace and tranquillity in the border.  Principal JNV Tangha, Longleng, Mukul Talukdar briefed on the problems and grievances faced by students and faculty of JNV due to scarcity of water. He informed the house that JNV School was ready with all safety measures on COVID-19 for opening of the school and sought the permission from District Administration. 

SDO (R&B) Longleng highlighted the status of ongoing wooden bridge construction at Dikhu River by villagers in between Mongtikang and Salulamang while DIO (NIC) Vinit Kumar enlightened the members on usefulness of information technology in the present age. 

EAC Longleng, Ihoilung informed on registration and membership fees of the officer’s club and officers’ meet likely to be held in March.  The house also discussed and decided to assist the bridge construction at Dikhu with contribution and collection from DPDB members. DC along with SDO and EAC Longleng visited the bridge construction site and handed over cash to the convenor of the Construction Committee on behalf of the DPDB.
