‘National road safety month’ held in Kiphire

Kiphire observed “national road safety month” at Delux Point, Kiphire town, Thursday. The programme on the theme “Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha” was organised by DEF Kiphire and supported by United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC). 

Speaking at the programme, superintendent of Police Kiphire, Muthasuyi said that on many occasions, people met with accidents in inebriated conditions which was a menace and cited that rush driving was another cause of accident levying the life and loss of properties.

SP Kiphire further appealed the gathering to avoid drunken driving and advised them to follow the traffic rules.  

USSC vice president, Sethrongba Y in his short speech spoke on good driving and traffic dos and don’ts. He also highlighted advices to two-wheelers and car drivers in the town and advised drivers in the town to drive cautiously and to follow the traffic rules.

Earlier, the was programme was flagged off by SP Kiphire while 7th Assam Rifles Kiphire displayed video clips and exhorted the gathering. OC PS Kiphire, Bendangsangba Jamir delivered vote of thanks. Assam Rifle Kiphire also helped initiate the programme.
