Alleging rampant encroachment of government land in various governmental offices and establishment under Jalukie sub-division, the Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) has cautioned that “any negligence or connivance on the part of the government officials” would not be tolerated.
In a press release, JSUN president, Agumbe Nring and general secretary, Indeu Heikha, reiterated union’s resolution adopted at its executive meeting on January 25, 2021, to tackle the issues of alleged encroachment and instruct the respective departments and responsible stakeholders to remain vigilant and regularly check for any such activities.
The union has warned individuals or group found encroaching, assimilation of a portion of land into private holding by means of illicit fencing, and illegally constructing structures within the demarcated boundary of the “donated” government land would be doing so at their own risk.
Further, JSUN has resolved to initiate appropriate action and affirmed that those responsible would be dealt with sternly.
It also requested right thinking citizens to refrain “refrain from buying of plot permit issued by some unscrupulous and corrupted officials and encroachers”. It has urged all responsible to instead maintain and safeguard the government land.
