
Two-day online training programme on “Recent Innovations in Agriculture and Its Up scaling Strategies” for ATMA functionaries organised by State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) came to an end on February 12.
The resource persons for the training programme were Dr. Mary N Odyuo, Asst. Professor, Department of Rural Development, NU, SASRD, Medziphema and Dr. Harendra Verma, Scientist Plant breeding & Genetics, ICAR, New Medziphema. During the training session, the resource persons highlighted the importance of modern agriculture and its latest technology in helping farmers to connect with the technology information they need through novel ways. Also, up scaling practices of recent improve varieties of major crops suitable in Nagaland and management and practices of the Vermi-composting and it benefits to agriculture was disseminated to the trainees to practice and improve the up scaling strategies for the welfare of the farmers.
Feedback was received from all participants and e-certificates were issued to all the participants. Altogether, 22 ATMA functionaries from all the districts of the state attended the online training programme.
