Angami Youth Organisation to conduct cleanliness drive

Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has informed that it would be carrying out a cleanliness drive in Kohima town on February 22 from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m. as part of the Sekrenyi festival, 2021. A press release by its president, Kekhrie Pfukha and secretary environment, Neiba Bio stated that the cleanliness drive which would be conducted three days ahead of the premier festival of the Angami Nagas would be carried out in collaboration with Kohima Municipal Council and Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, along the stretch of Kohima town: From Lerie to High School area; TCP Gate to Paramedical Colony. Youth volunteers and officials from all the four Angami ranges including SAYO, NAYO, WAYO and CYO would participate in in the cleanliness drive. Meanwhile, AYO has requested shopkeepers along the stretch of Kohima town to clean their respective shops and the adjacent areas. Further, AYO resolved for removal of old rickety vehicles/structures which have been stranded on the road/highway for too long and have been obstructing smooth vehicular movement. In this, the ward panchayat/colony officials have been requested to take the initiative in informing the concerned vehicle owners and do the needful at the earliest.
