Weekly Friday bazaar re-opened in Kiphire

Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Kiphire “weekly Friday bazaar” was officially re-opened on February 19 at Bamboo Hut, KTC Market Complex.

According to DIPR report, District Administration, DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kiphire Town Council in convergence with National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) successfully mobilised and invited various SHGs and women from Longmatra block and Sitimi block as the first phase to sell agro products at the bazaar. 
It may be noted that the weekly market under the banner of MSK is aimed at facilitating women SHGs from all eight blocks on rotation basis to sell their produce at the urban market with the help of the network of SHGs under the NRLM.
The MSK weekly market aims at providing platform to rural farmers by providing transport to sell their produce at the nearest urban towns such as Kiphire and Pungro.
Earlier, President, Akehda Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang Apila Sangtam inaugurated the weekly Friday bazaar.
