3rd Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS award

3rd annual Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS award was held on February 19, at hotel Lavisto, Kohima. 

Five women, namely Vinikali G Kinimi, Likivi I Awomi, Atunali H Shohe, Liya Zhimomi and Atolimi S Sumi were felicitated at the award ceremony for securing MBBS seat through the NEET 2020. 

During the programme, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DCCI), vice president, V Shikuto Sema and NRE director, Inaho P Awomi spoke on behalf of the families of the awardees while Sümi Totimi Hoho (STH) president, Piholi spoke on behalf of STH. 

It may be noted that Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS award is an initiative of Dr. Toshevi Keditsu Sema, the first lady doctor from the Sümi tribe of Nagaland who completed her MBBS in the year 1977 from Guwahati Medical College.

The award is officiated by Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation in collaboration with STH, Nagaland and presented annually to Sümi women who qualify to study graduate medical course (MBBS) though the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in India. The award comprises of a certificate and cash prize of Rs. 1, 00,000.
