Math coaching for HSLC in Phek

One-month long mathematics coaching class for HSLC appearing candidates under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) commenced on February 15 at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek. 

The coaching was initiated by District Administration and District Level Centre for Women – Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek

A press release by DA & DLCW MSK Phek stated that DC Phek, Razouvolie Dozo said the initiative to organise the coaching was undertaken to help students as their studies had been affected by the pandemic.

DC was of the view that poor performance in mathematics was a concern all over the district and the initiative was undertaken in order to boost their morale and for students to get good grades.

Speaking at the inaugural session, SDO (C) nodal officer BBBP, Phek, N Bhavani Sri urged the students to have an ambition, to be consistent and work upon it to achieve their oriented goals.

Adding that mathematics was important for developing analytical skills, she also emphasised that aptitude was extremely important for clearing many competitive exams such as UPSC, CAT, GMAT etc. 

GHSS, Phek principal Kewetshete Wezah urged students not to just come for the sake of attending the coaching class but to have their own goals and know their purpose. It may be noted that teachers for the coaching were Ashok Kumar B.Sc. Maths, B.Ed Kezevituo Chielie M.Sc. Maths, B.Ed. Around 200 students from Phek from various educational institutions have enrolled for the free coaching class.

With two batches on daily basis, the class starts from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Notebooks, pen, masks and hand sanitisers were also distributed to students on the first day. The coaching class will conclude on March 15.
