Taking note of some individuals constructing buildings/structures along the NH-02 stretch, the Mokokchung district administration has directed all responsible individuals to refrain from carrying out any further unauthorised developmental activities over the land within the RoW.
In a notification, the deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir stated that some individuals were constructing buildings and structures starting from Km.135.00 (Alichen) to Km.147.00 (Sewak Gate), Km.156.00 (DEF) to Km.168.00 (Yisemyong) and Km.185.00 (Unger) to Km.220.00 (Assam Rifle Gate,Tuli). DC stated that assessment for property damage compensation for buildings/structures for widening of single lane to 2 lane of NH-02 along the mentioned stretch has already been carried out and completed by NH team and line departments, district administration in coordination with village council of concerned villages.
DC has, therefore, informed that any new developmental activities by way of constructing buildings/structures within the earmarked RoW would not be accounted for compensation. All such buildings/structures constructed and those under construction would be at the risk of the individuals concerned themselves.
