
Advisor of Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Kazheto Kinimi highlighted the role of NSDMA in disaster management activities and in providing yeomen services to the families affected during natural calamity and other disasters related in the state.
The advisor, who was addressing the officials of NSDMA at the convergence meeting, held at Hotel Vivor, Kohima on Friday stated that NSDMA has become a vital part in the governance of the state.
Therefore, he informed the officials and members present at the meeting to keep track of the activities, programs and policies of the state government, reminding them that the idea of having the convergence was to come together with a vision to further strengthen the activities of NSDMA.
While also appreciating the frontline workers and officials of NSDMA for rendering their extraordinary services thus far, he called for continued efforts and cooperation in order to contain the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.
He also recalled how the state government along with various agencies including Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority and district task forces had been working hand in hand on war-footing in the containment and management of the COVID 19 cases in the state.
Earlier, the opening remarks was delivered by NSDMA secretary, Lhouchalie Viya and programme officer Disaster Risk and Resilience, UNCIEF India, Anand Prokash Kanoon spoke on the topics on “disaster risk reduction”.
Special message was delivered by principal secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha.
Prelude to convergence was presented by OSD, NSDMA, Johnny Ruiangmei.
