Kulolau Yemishe Ghami Kuqhakulu (KYGK) has sharply reacted to NSCN (R) president reinstating and appointing Khekato Kinimi as finance kilonser, who it alleged was the prime accused in the “cold-blooded murder” of Major Toishe Yepthomi of NSCN (I-M)”, and questioned the NSCN (R) president if he and accused Khekato had “jointly collaborated to murder Major Toishe Yepthomi.”
In a press release, KYGK president Vihoshe Sema and general secretary Ayeho Z Ayemi said that KYGK had every right to “question the motive of NSCN (R) president as the prime accused Khekato Kinimi, who is believed to be absconding and still not arrested by the law enforcing agencies, was taken back into the NSCN (R) organization by the president after being communicated to KYGK that he was terminated.”
Further, KYGK has also asked the law enforcing agencies and the state government over the delay in arresting the accused Khekato Kinimi even after three years since the case was registered against him.
In this regard, KYGK has appealed to the law enforcing agencies “to spell out the problems or hurdles being faced by the police in causing the delay over the arrest of the murder accused and also state if the accused is under protection from any provisions of the law.”
15-day ultimatum on state government
KYGK said that it had submitted a representation to the commissioner of police Dimapur on September 2, 2019 with the hope that police and law enforcing agencies would arrest all those involved in the August 16 incident and justice would be delivered.
However, KYGK said that no positive action has been taken till date with regard to the case.
KYGK has, therefore, appealed to the state government and the law enforcing agencies to settle the case within 15 days failing which the KYGK would “resort to any form of democratic objection to voice our displeasure over the delay in delivering justice to late Toishe Yepthomi.”
