
Unity College observed its 14th freshers’ day at the college campus, with assistant professor of department of genetics and plant breeding, SASRD, Dr. Malini B Sharma as the chief guest.
Encouraging the freshers, the professor stated that life would have challenges but they were always inspirational.
She maintained that graduation meant one would develop ideas, start observing, analysing and making decisions which were vital for the society.
She further asserted that graduating years were where one would have to capture maximum knowledge and in the students, the lecturers see thinkers, philosophers, politicians and policy makers of the society.
Further, the professor advised the students to enjoy college days with responsibility and accountability.
Delivering the welcome address, principal of the college, Dr. Lichumo Enie urged students not to be ordinary in order to strive for the best.
He maintained that self discipline and time management was the road to success and advised them to allow the college to open up doors of exclusive and rewarding opportunities.
Earlier, UCSU general secretary, Talikaba Longkumer delivered welcome speech on behalf of the seniors while Akash Yadav delivered speech on behalf of the freshers.
Release of college magazine and journal was also initiated by the guest of honour and a song was present by Itihito H Kiba.
Muttan Hangbe E Chang and Martha Patton were crowned as the 14th Mr. and Ms. Fresher.
