Gov, CM, Dy.CM extend greetings

Nagaland governor RN Ravi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy chief minister Y Patton have extended greetings to the members of Chang, Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of Kündanglüm, Aoleang and Phom Mongyu respectively.

In his message to Changs, Ravi said Kundanglün literally means festival commemorating the completion of field’s hut. He said a significant part of the festival was that the celebrations provide a platform for the youth to get acquainted with the spiritual and cultural richness of the Changs.

On Aoleang festival, Ravi said it was an occasion for Konyak community to pray for a bountiful harvest and also to promote peace and progress in the society.

Greeting Phom community members, the governor said love, compassion, friendship and forgiveness were the significant essence of the Phom Mongyu festival. 

He said it was important to uphold the tradition of teaching ancient customary practices to the youth of the community during this time. Governor urged everyone to celebrate the festival keeping in mind COVID-19 protocols. 

CM: Taking to twitter, chief minister extended best wishes to the Chang community for good health, peace and prosperity in everyone’s lives.

Greeting the Konyak community, the chief minister expressed hope that the new year brings blessings of good health and fruitfulness and may the harvest be bountiful. 

On Phom Mongyu festival, Rio prayed that the festivities foster peace, brotherhood and oneness. “I wish you all a happy Mongyu in the best of health and spirit,” he said.

Dy.CM: Deputy chief minister Y Patton Kundaglun, Aoleang and Phom Monyu festivals marking the beginning of a new season would enrich the lives of each and every one abundantly. Patton, on behalf of the state BJP legislatures, wished Chang, Konyak and Phom communities a very happy, prosperous and meaningful celebrations.
