Covid-19 testing to held at pre-decided locations
Travellers are to carry negative test report on arrival
As per the directives of the government, the Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 and vaccination has decided to conduct random testing for COVID-19 in pre-decided places.
According to DIPR report, the deputy commissioner (DTF) Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, who is also the chairman of Dimapur DTF, told a joint meeting of Dimapur DTF for COVID 19 and vaccination, which was held in the conference hall of DC Dimapur on April 9, 2021.
Taking note of the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the DC Dimapur stressed on the importance of preparedness against resurgence of COVID-19 in Dimapur district amid second wave of pandemic that was prevalent in many states across the country.
Stating screening of returnees would commence at the airport, DC has informed that all travellers were to carry negative COVID-19 test report and produce the same on arrival.
At the meeting, chief medical officer (CMO) Dimapur, Dr. Mereninla, highlighted on the rise in complacency amongst the public.
She requested all the members to create awareness among the communities in collaboration with the medical department.
Giving a presentation on the status of COVID-19 vaccination in the district, the district immunization officer, Dr. Rebecca, informed the house that vaccine session centres would be set up in offices with minimum 50 registered beneficiaries above the age of 45 years.
Observing that most of the officers in Dimapur would not have 50 eligible beneficiaries, DC Dimapur requested the medical department to consider forming clusters of officers. DC also requested all the members to render their best efforts and extend cooperation for management of Covid-19 activities.
Representative of chairmen and GB unions requested the DTF to consider carrying out ward wise vaccination drive. As regards, the medical department assured for necessary action after discussion.
