Dimapur District Autorickshaw Driver Union (DDADU) has asked the Roads and Bridges department and District Administration to issue an assurance, through the media, that the Nagarjan bridge which is about to open, is safe to ply on. A press release from DDADU president, I. Vitoshe Sema noted that the bridge is on the verge of collapse, and since the commercial vehicles, especially the autorickshaws, are for the public, the DDAU said they will not cross the bridge unless the assurance is given. They also asked the public to not force autorickshaw drivers to cross the bridge.
